IJ Start Canon Pixma MG8220 Configuration– There are at least two situations for judging the Canon Pixma MG8220 wireless Inkjet Photo All-in-one. First, it provides essentially the same functionality, except that it adds the ability to scan 35mm slides and filmstrip as a large brother of the recently reviewed Canon Pixma 6220. Secondly, Canon is the latest luxury home photography lab. This means that you can print high-quality photos from a variety of sources that can reasonably be used as pictures without connecting to your computer. Anyway it’s impressive enough to be the new editor’s choice for a high-end, optical-core MFP.

The MG-8220 replaces all the key features of the Canon PIXMA MG8120 wireless Photo All-in-One Printer Canon®. Print, scan, and copy. The scan function expands to include 35mm film (defined by slides and filmstrip). Expands the copy function to allow you to print photos directly from the film. You can also print from a long list of different sources like memory cards, USB memory keys and PictBridge cameras.

The less frequently used options include copy photo from front panel and copy Advanced Photo command to print high-quality copies of photo printing. (The document also has a standard copy command.) The front panel also has an online album printing option that allows you to select the Canon Image Gateway and Picasa Web albums. You can preview the photo on the 3.5-inch LCD of the printer before printing as expected.

Of course, you can also connect to your computer when you print photos or do universal printing. And one of the final sources of photos, Canon offers the software to capture and print HD frames from Canon HD PowerShot or EOS cameras.

Other features worth mentioning are the printing of printable optical discs, automatic duplex printing (single-sided printing on one page), and two 150-sheet trays with plain paper and photos at the same time.

It is convenient to insert two types of paper. This is especially useful when you want to use a printer in a lightweight Home office. The same notes also apply to the ability to scan to a USB memory key or memory card. However, the printer does not have office-centric features such as fax support or the automatic document feeder (ADF). This feature is mostly limited to the use of lightweight home offices.

Speed and quality
The MG 8220 provides both wired and WiFi connections and USB. The driver was installed on the Windows Vista system by connecting to the Ethernet port for testing. The installation was standard fare.

For printers with a focus on photography, the speed of business application suite (Qualitylogic when using hardware and software in 8220) was not particularly impressive.

2.9 pages per minute takes longer to take effect, so the editors’s Choice Kodak ESP C310 (99.99 USD, 4 stars), as well as MG6220 and MG 8120 are also connected. It is also much slower than the price point and many other printers. For example, Epson Artisan 835 (Directly 299.99 dollars, 4 stars) came in 5.2 p m.

Photo speed is much better than other inkjet. In my tests, the MG 8220 is an average of 58 seconds, a little slower than the C 310 in 44 seconds, but is inherently fast enough to be associated with Artisan 835 and compute beyond what it can accommodate.

The output quality was essentially the same as that of the MG 6220. The MG 6220 is the same as the one pictured below, with the MG 8220 slightly below it instead of the inkjet MFP for text and graphics. Text can be accommodated in 10-or 12-point sizes in most cases, but the edges are not sharp and the font size is small and easy to read.

The same problem appeared with the graphics. The thinnest line in a line graph of a black background is filled with a solid color. However, all other test images are sufficient for home applications or business needs, including PowerPoint applications.

With true photographic quality, easily proven photographic output is one step ahead of pharmacy print quality. Editors’s Choice Epson Stylus photo R2000 (499.99 dollars direct, 4.5 stars) is not very different from the almost devoted photographic printer, but most ordinary photographers need to find more than just a picture to take a frame.

When I reviewed the Pixma 6220, I suggested that a little more suggestion could be the editor’s choice. The Canon Pixma MG 8220 offers a little more functionality in the form of a scan film as well as direct printing from the film. If you don’t need to deal with slides or film strips, just save a few bucks.
