IJ Start Canon PIXMA TS6270 Configuration– The use of five inks allows the Pixma TS6250 to produce very high quality text and color documents.
However, Canon’s XXL cartridges help reduce overall operating costs at more affordable levels, especially if you need to print many photos and color documents.
If you only need a basic printer for simple text documents and an occasional autophoto, you should probably use a more basic four-color printer. But if you don’t mind paying a little more for text and graphics really high quality, then the Pixma TS6250 is an excellent choice.

Canon recently introduced its first “rechargeable” inkjet printers, which use affordable ink bottles, rather than expensive ink cartridges, to drastically reduce the long-term cost of buying replacement inks. The new Pixma TS6250 is a more conventional printer, which relies on cartridges once again. Here’s our full review.

The Pixma TS6250 is available on Amazon at £149, which is relatively high for a home printer.
However, your five-color printing system is designed for home users who are willing to pay a little more for printing text, graphics and very high quality photos.
It is a cheaper option compared to the Pixma TR8550 and the Pixma TS8050, going by SPM.

Like most inkjet printers, the TS6250 uses four inks (cyan, magenta, yellow and black (or ‘ CMYK ‘) for color graphics and photos. However, it also includes an additional black pigment-based ink that is reserved for high-quality text output.
It is also packed with useful features, including a scanner and a 1200×2400 PPP copier and double-sided automatic printing (duplex). Connectivity options include USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as Apple AirPrint for IOS devices and Mopria for Android.
There are two paper trays, with the front tray containing 100 sheets of A4 paper, while the rear tray is specifically designed for glossy and enveloped photographic paper. You can even print on special decals and magnetic papers that will allow you to place your designs on the door of a refrigerator or other surfaces.
And all of these features are integrated in a low profile compact design that is only 139 mm high, 372 mm wide and 315 mm deep, so it fits easily on a shelf or desk even in smaller rooms where space is a little scarce . The printer is available in black or white, although the white model is called TS6251.

Our tests with several word and PDF text files reached 14 ppm, but that is fast enough for most home users, and will allow you to print longer documents, such as school reports, in a very short time.
Print quality is also excellent, thanks to pigmented ink, which produces crisp, smooth text characters that can give the most expensive laser printers a career for their money.
The color documents containing text and graphics are a little slower: we obtained 7.5 ppm, instead of the 10 ppm quoted by Canon, but again, that is perfectly suitable for everyday home use.
Photographic printing is also good, as it takes only 30 seconds for a postcard printing of 4×6 inches with vivid and bright colors and a strong contrast.

It is difficult to criticize the print quality provided by the TS6250. But, inevitably, the five ink cartridges used by the printer increase the operating costs a little. Things get even more complicated by the fact that each ink cartridge is available in three different sizes (standard, XL and XXL) and that Canon estimates different page numbers for each individual cartridge.
The standard pigmented black ink costs £11.49, but only lasts about 200 pages, which is equivalent to a cost of 5.75 p per page. We suggest that you omit the XL cartridges and opt for the XXL option instead. This cartridge is almost twice as expensive, with £21.49, but has a duration of 600 pages, which reduces the cost per page to approximately 3.5 p.
